How Net Metering Works
An On-Grid system is connected to your local utility grid. When your solar panels generate more power than you use during the day, the excess flows back to the grid.
The "Net Meter" records this export. At night, when you draw power from the grid, it's adjusted against your credits. You only pay for the "Net" usage—which is often zero.
